Bloggity, Blog, Blog, Blog

So I have been a bad blogger lately. It has been forever and a day since I last posted. But there is just so much to do. And so much going on. Plus, I usually have like a list of blog ideas and postings in my head of things that I want to blog about.... but lately, nothing. Weird! I blame my lack of ideas on the amazing birthday present Kenny got me. I spend all my free time on it. It makes me happy. He got me a Kindle! I capital L-O-V-E it! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! I was a little hesitant about it at first because I did not want to be a traitor to what I love, books. And there is a lot to miss about books in print- the smell of new books, getting to crack the binding when you open it, browsing for hours in the book store. But then, I realized... I will still do that.... Just because I have a Kindle doesn't mean I can't swing both ways. :) So for now, my Kindle is down and I am focusing on the blog.

But anyways, here is the 411 on us just to catch up so that I feel like I can go on blogging about more fun topics...

Kenny is now half way done with his training. He leaves every Monday afternoon and comes home late Friday nights. Harper and I miss him dearly but we are so proud of him. He is doing such a good job and is loving his new job. So we are happy. We should find out where we will end up in a few weeks, so we are anxiously awaiting that.

As for me, I am finishing up school through BYU-Idaho's online program. I only have a couple more semesters left, so I am just chugging away. I am taking 4 classes this semester so I am staying pretty busy with all the homework and keeping up with Harper.

Miss Harper is doing fabulous. She grew some more teeth so she no longer has fangs. She is crawling EVERYWHERE! She is constantly on the go, never staying still. She loves reading (which makes me so so so happy), playing with Aunt Riley (Rye is Harper's BFF), crawling all over the place, swinging at the playground, watching kids, twirling, playing with all her toys, riding in her new forward facing carseat, coloring, dancing, and just being her cute self! She is such a blast.

Here are a couple pics of Harper. We usually go out to eat on Monday's before we take Kenny to the airport. So here is Harps sitting in her high chair at Sweet Tomatoes (good, but Souper Salad is way better)....

A Year In Review

So 2010 has been a big, monumental year. Like big! It has a great year.

I started off the year humongously pregnant and working at APX. Kenny was working at the testing center. We were both taking classes and anxiously awaiting the arrival of Miss Harper and preparing to move to Washington D.C. for an internship.

Harper was born. We learned that being parents was crazy, hard, and absolutely WONDERFUL! We were all in love at first sight. We also learned how hard it was to function on minimal amounts of sleep.

We no longer felt right about going to D.C. So within about 2 weeks, we found a new apartment in Provo, Kenny got an internship for the City of Provo, we both signed up summer classes at BYU, and continued learning how to be parents.

We celebrated 2 years of marriage!

We had a fun reunion weekend with Kenny's family up in Alberta.

Kenny GRADUATED!!! We are so proud of him! He interviewed, interviewed, and interviewed some more.

Harper grew, grew, and grew some more.

We sold our contract, packed our stuff, said good bye to Utah for the time being and moved to Texas to continue the job hunt.

A week later, Kenny go a job that he had applied for up in Utah. And again, we are so stinking proud of his amazingness!

Went to Houston and spent a fun filled week with Kenny's sister, Heather, and all her kids.
Kenny started the job and the traveling commenced. Harper and I are having a blast playing with Gran and Grandpa Dethloff and all the uncles and aunt.

Harper grew fang teeth (see post below) and is continuing to grow and learn like CRAZY!

Kenny went to his sister, Linda's, wedding. Harper got sick so we stayed behind. :(

We had a fabulous Christmas (Harper's first was so exciting) with my family and enjoyed getting to see my brother, Brian, and his wife, Katie. It had been way too long.

We have learned A LOT this year! It has been quite the transitional, growing period for all of us. We have seen the Lord's hand guiding our lives countless times this year. We have received unconditional love, support, and guidance from our parents and siblings and grandparents and just everyone. We are ever so grateful for our families and all the many blessings we have received this year.

We are looking forward to 2011 and all the changes and growth we know that it will bring.
And to end, a cute picture of Harper....
