Funny Story...

I thought Father's Day was tomorrow... Oops... it is not! But it works fine because my dad's birthday is on Monday... so dad, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

2 Lucky Girls!!!

Lucky girl #1: ME!
i love my dad. he is such an awesome guy. He has always been there cheering and coaching us on in everything we choose to do. the thing that he worries about most is taking care of us kids and making sure that we are happy and it has always been this way. i have always known that if i ever need anything all i would have to do is ask. and while we all know that america needs ditch digger (inside joke with daddio:) ) he never let us settle and has always tried to help us realize the true potential that we are capable of reaching. i have learned so much from him. i know that i would not be where i am today had it not been for my dad. he has always been my #1 fan and always lets me know and for that i am eternally grateful. I love you dad! Happy Father's Day!

(for those who are curious... I am sucking my fingers not picking my nose... although it is very possible that a little of both was going on...who knows!)
Lucky girl #2: Harper!
kenny is absolutely an amazing dad! when we got pregnant, i was terrified out of my mind about having to care for a kid because i knew nothing about what to do. but honestly, the one thing that made me not so scared was knowing that kenny was there and was going to be great! harper loves kenny so much. when kenny is in the room, her attention goes only to him. she just sits and stares at him. and as soon as he looks at her the biggest smile creeps over her face! he just makes her so happy... and me too! he is absolutely amazing to both of us! he takes such good care of harper and i and is such a hard worker. Happy Father's Day Kenny! We love you!

Aunt Riley

So Aunt Riley bought this shirt for Harper when we were in Texas... and I was horrible and forgot to take a picture of the two of them wearing it! I am so sad about it! But I wanted to post pictures of Harper wearing Aunt Riley's shirt...

With only 9 years apart, I am positive Riley is going to be Harper's BFF!!
We love you Aunt Riley!

2 Months

So Harper turned 2 months a several days ago... we just had her appointment on Friday. And can I just say, I am not a fan of my daughter getting shots! It hurt me to have to watch... but Kenny went and helped hold her down while they did it, so at least I did not have to do that part! But anyways, here are her stats...

Weight- 13 lbs. 4 oz. (95 %)

Height- 25.5 inches (+100%)

Head- I don't remember exactly but... (95%)

Cuteness- STINKIN' ADORABLE (but I am a little biased)

Upon Request

Harper and I recently took a trip to Texas so that my family could meet her. It was so good to see everyone (except Uncle Brian and Aunt Katie... missed yall). We had so much fun and can't wait to go back again... except next time with Kenny (we missed him so much while we were gone). But here are some pictures of Harper with everyone...

Harper's FAVORITE place to sleep in Texas...

Old Pictures to Post

A few weekends ago Kenny and I went up to Rexburg for the weekend for his sister, Gene's graduation. It was so fun to be back up there. I absolutely love Rexburg and BYU-Idaho. It was so fun to see how much campus and everything had change and to visit with Sheila & Jeremy.

Congratulations Gene! Thanks for letting us come!

And while we were there, Kenny and I went and visited the classroom that we met in... It was weird to be back there...

Our Seats

We also had Harper blessed this weekend too...

On Being a Mother

I know that it is awful. I admit that I now feel very foolish, dumb, and guilty for having ever thought this way in the slightest bit. But, before having Harper, I did not give motherhood enough credit.
When I was pregnant, Kenny and I were talking with his brother and sister-in-law about our plans for the summer. I was saying how after I had Harper, I was going to go to school and get a part time job and still be able to do the whole mom and breastfeeding thing because I was worried about not having enough to do after working and going to school full time for the last year and a half... I wanted to keep myself busy. They were both very sweet about my foolishness... gave a chuckle, a nice smile, and wished me good luck (looking back, they both clearly knew that I had no clue what was coming).
Tomorrow, it will be my two months into eternity (because that is how long you are a mom for, eternity) and I must say that being a mom is hard work! In these two months, I have felt more tired, frustrated, confused, incapable, incompetent, overwhelmed, and exhausted than I could have ever imagined. However, I have also felt and been given the most patience, acceptance, support, and unconditional from Kenny, Harper, my family, and my Heavenly Father than I could have ever imagined. It has been simply amazing. I am truly blessed to be a mom.
On that note, I owe a HUGE thank you to my mother! She is the best! I truly aspire to be like my mother. She is such a good example to me with her constant service and care for others, her strong foundation in the gospel, and her steadfastness in standing for what is right. She is the most amazing women ever. She was my best friend all growing up. She is always there to just listen when I need to talk and give comforting advice. She knows just what to say and is usually right. She has always been there supporting and helping me. I just wish and hope that I can be half the mother, friend, and example for my kids that my mom was for me.

Thanks Mom! I love you so much!
