Officially a Cougar!

So I know that this is really little kiddish... but it was a monumental day... my first day of school at BYU Provo! I think Kenny was being a little bit sarcastic this morning when he said I should take a back to school pictures... but little did he know, I was going to suggest it anyways! So here are my first day of school pictures. I am so excited to be going to classes again. I had world civilizations and anthropology this morning and I will go to Health Promotion and American Sign Language tomorrow. I am so excited to learn ASL, I have wanted to do it for a long time now.

Break pictures

So for Christmas Kenny and I went to Texas to spend it with my family. It was so fun and good to see everybody. Here are some random pictures that we got with our NEW CAMERA (thanks Santa)...

My Grandma Dethloff, Riley, and I on Christmas morning.

My Grandpa rocking out on the Guitar Hero that Chris, Cole, and Riley got.

Riley and I playing Wii. She is so fun... and totally kicked my trash in Tony Hawk.

The heated and intense Scrabble game.

Also, when we were home, we were so fortunate to get to attend Riley's baptism. I was so glad that we got to be a part. Riley is so cute and I am so proud of the amazing decision she made to be baptized.

Riley and my Dad before the big event.

Our family after Riley's baptism.

Christmas Time

Kenny and I decorated our apartment for Christmas! I love Christmas decorations, they just make me happy!

Our tree fixings....

Our tree all said and done. I am pleased with our tree on a budget!

I just love the glowy pictures!

Our first tree!

A few other pics of our Christmas decorations... I love Honk's, the dollar store. That is where I got most of them! I am addicted, but I have to limit myself when I go there. But it is great because when money is tight it makes me want to spend it for some strange reason (my mom says that I get it from my grandmother), so if I go to the dollar store and buy like 8 things, it is not too big of a dent in my wallet, yet you still get the feeling of joy from spending! Hmmm... I really love it! Maybe I will go tomorrow!

Turkey Day

So we had a fabulous Thanksgiving yesterday. Kenny and I did dinner at our house with Stephen and one of his old roommates. It was fun and totally casual. It was a long day though. Being the turkey amateurs that we are, we decided that we would do the easiest things possible... throw it in the crock pot. Kenny got up at 7 in the morning to fix it up (he buttered it, then rubbed french onion soup mix on) and threw it in the crock pot.

Kenny's hand prepping the turkey. It turned out so delicious!! My mom said that it was Stephen's favorite.

Me waiting for the sweet potatoes and green bean casserole. I have always felt like my kitchen was a good enough size for me and Kenny... boy was I wrong, two ovens and more counter space would have been amazing. It got very small, very quick in there. We had to turn on the fan, it was getting so hot.

The boys were anxiously awaiting to start dinner. Everything is on the table except the sweet potatoes and green bean casserole. We had to rotate the food on the table because there was no room for everything at once.

Kenny reaching for his favorite, mashed potatoes. The dinner turned out SOOOO YUMMY! I was totally shocked with myself. I did not think that I would be able to pull it off. My favorite thing this Thanksgiving was probably the Meier's sparkling grape juice; however, my favorite food was the stuffing... got to love Stove top!

After dinner the boys finished watching the game ( go Cowboys!) and we had dessert.

After it was all said and done, and the boys had left, Kenny and I snuggled on the couch to watch a Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

I had not watched Charlie Brown in a while and was surprised at how old the kids look! The lines all over their face made them look old and wrinkly.

But anyways, it was a great Thanksgiving. I missed the rest of my family, but I was blessed to be able to spend it with Kenny and Stephen.

BYU Football

Kenny and I bought All sports passes for all the BYU home games this year! Last Saturday was the final BYU home game. It has been fun going to the games and being with there with Kenny. The only question now is what will we do with our free Saturday afternoons and evenings? Here are pictures of us at the last game...

Us at half time....

We had to wait till after the game was over to get a picture of the field. The guy who sits in front of us was HIGHLY annoying (never sitting down, yelling at the refs when the made any sort of call in the other teams favor, yelling at the players when they did not do well, and the worst... the CONTINUAL jumping up and down.... the guy must have calves of steel!) But anyways, here it is!

Also, sorry it took so long Nanny and Grammy! But thanks for the "award." Love you both!

Proposition 2

My excitement for voting in this election stems completely from these two commercials! I just love these cute little guys! So if you are reading this and you can vote in Utah, vote for the giraffes!

Plates and office party

So this is a picture of our car with our BEAUTIFUL Texas plates. It always made me so happy seeing them...a little bit of home.

This is Kenny's walk of shame back into the house after taking them off and putting on our new Utah plates. It makes me sad to think that when on the road I can now be classified as a Utah driver. No one will know that I am a Texan. :(

OFFICE PARTY

So every year my company has a killer party. They give away tons of stuff.... cars, the scooter/motorcycle things, 60,000 in CASH, mountain bikes... it was crazy the stuff they were giving away and tons of it. Although we did not win anything that grand, we felt like we came away with some decent stuff.... tons of shirts and hats, a few of the small gym bag things and 2 swiss army backpacks (all of the stuff branded with APX), so we decided to take a picture with all of our loot.

Kenny wanted to take a picture looking "gangster" or "tough" or something of the sort... this was my best try, Kenny does it better than I... that is what two years in the ghetto of Jersey does to you I guess.
